BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A report of a suspicious person brought a strong police presence to Bellingham’s Roosevelt neighborhood early Thursday morning.
Police Lieutenant Don Almer says a resident called 911 to report a man was pacing back and forth across Alabama Street at about 4:20 AM.
Officers arrived and one of them recognized the man from previous contacts as Jon Brendan Kindy.
The officer knew Kindy has an active no-contact order with a person who lives in the neighborhood and tried to question Kindy, who began swinging at the officer.
Kindy kept fighting while the officer tried to take him into custody.
More police arrived and Kindy was arrested on an outstanding warrant and for violating the no-contact order.
