FERNDALE, Wash. — An unmarked police vehicle crashed into another car on Main Street in Ferndale Thursday afternoon.
Ferndale Communications Officer Riley Sweeney says the law enforcement officer was not harmed, but the driver of the other vehicle was transported to St. Joseph’s hospital with injuries.
A witness said it looked like the police vehicle was responding to a call when it struck the other vehicle, sending it spinning up onto the sidewalk at the intersection of Main Street and Dick Stone Lane by the Ferndale Walgreens.
They said it looked like the injured driver was an elderly woman.
Washington State Patrol is conducting an independent investigation of the crash.
