BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The man killed Saturday in an apparently random spree of violence in Bellingham is identified as 71-year-old Donald T. Alderson.
Bellingham Police say witnesses found Alderson gravely wounded on a trail near Meador Street, but he died before aid arrived.
Police arrested 33-year-old Jesse Reyes after a man matching his description was identified in the attack on Alderson and separate attacks on a man and woman along Lakeway at about 11:00 AM.
He made his first court appearance yesterday and is held on one million dollars bail.
Police don’t know of a motive for the attacks.
