Police offer academy for aspiring neighborhood watch volunteers

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police Department is looking for volunteers to help them improve safety in local neighborhoods.

The department announced they are currently accepting applications for their Bellingham Neighbors Together and Bellingham Citizen Patrol teams.

Volunteers will provide a visible presence to citizens while observing and reporting suspicious activity and educating residents on neighborhood safety.
