TWISP, Wash. (AP) – Mesa police said one of their officers died in an off-duty motorcycle accident near Twisp.
The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office said Officer Kurt Allen Carlson lost control of his motorcycle and ended up in a river near the road Monday night.
Carlson was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was a 17½-year veteran of the Mesa Police Department.
Carlson leaves behind a wife and two children.
