BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Following Saturday’s synagogue shooting that killed eleven people in Pittsburgh, the Bellingham Police department is providing support and the local Jewish community is holding a prayer service.
Police sent extra patrols around the synagogues in Bellingham and say they are in contact with federal partners to stay informed.
In a statement sent out Saturday, Mayor Kelli Linville and Chief David Doll extended condolences to all those affected and said that while there are no local threats, they ask that if you hear or see something, say something, and call 911.
The Rohr Center for Jewish Life-Chabad in Bellingham is holding a prayer session at 5:30 PM Monday in response to the tragedy and will have staff on-call 24/7 should anyone need someone to talk to.
