BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A stand-off with a sex offender with a violent record brought the Barkley area to a standstill for several hours Wednesday morning.

Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says officers responded to an open phone line from a residence in the 1300 block of Barkley Boulevard and found a woman who said Tony L. Combs assaulted her when she confronted him about his criminal past.

They got her away from the home but Combs refused to come out.

The SWAT team was called in and the stand-off closed Barkley Boulevard between Woburn and Orleans.

Combs eventually surrendered.

He’s a convicted sex trafficker and offender and now faces domestic violence and drug charges.
