OLYMPIA, Wash. — Yesterday’s rain could not clear the smoke.
The State Department of Ecology says the weather system they were counting on to bring us some relief has not happened and southerly winds continue to bring smoke from Oregon into Western Washington.
We’re waking up to air quality in the purple, meaning “very unhealthy” today, according the the EPA Air Now web site.
NOAA says air quality will remain reduced through much of the week when a stronger system will bring showers and potentially a thunderstorm Thursday through Saturday.
The site predicts a move to orange or “unhealthy for sensitive groups” later today, then yellow “moderately concerning” tomorrow and now not “green” or good until Thursday and Friday.
