BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County residents have a fun way to honor the class of 2020.
School closures resulting from the COVID-19 crisis have been tough for all students, but especially seniors who are forced to miss milestone events like prom and possibly even graduation ceremonies.
Some districts across the state have decided to turn on their stadium lights to honor seniors, but that encouraged students and others to congregate, which is against Governor Jay Inslee’s orders.
The Bellingham School District is instead asking community members to turn their porch lights on at 8:20 tonight.
