PORT ANGELES, Wash. — Port Angeles Police have arrested a man suspected of starting a mobile home fire that may have killed his wife and three young children.

Four bodies were found inside the trailer following the fire early Saturday, and the residents haven’t been seen since.

Police say Matthew Timothy Wetherington was seen running away just as the fire erupted and they arrested him at a campsite Saturday night.

He was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and arson.

Investigators believe Wetherington lived in the trailer with his wife and the children.

Wetherington is a registered sex offender with a number of convictions including child molestation.
