PORT ANGELES, Wash. – A Port Angeles man was sentenced Friday to 97 months in prison for the sex assault of a child in a state park in 2001.
Charles Butcher is now 46.
In 2016, he admitted to the assault in a phone call recorded by the victim.
He had denied the incident for 15 years.
Butcher assaulted the child, who was 7 at the time, at the resort operated by Bucher’s family on Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park, in 2001.
