BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Point Roberts residents may get improved access to the mainland under a new Port of Bellingham initiative.
The Bellingham Herald reports commissioners directed staff to create plan for a Point Roberts to Blaine Ferry service as soon as possible,
San Juan cruises has offered a vessel.
A WTA transit connection at Blaine Harbor would also be created for arriving passengers.
The paper reports no timeline has yet been set for completion.
The US-Canada border has been closed to non-essential travel since March 21st, severely limiting trips to the mainland for Point Roberts residents.
