WASHINGTON D.C. – The Small Business Administration still has money available for local small businesses that have been affected by the coronavirus shutdown.

Regional administrator Jeremey Fields says the SBA still has $100 billion available for small businesses, independent contractors, non-profits and tribal businesses under the Paycheck Protection Program.

The money doesn’t have to be paid back if it’s used to keep employees or for mortgage or rent payments.

But it can also function as a low interest loan.

Fields told KGMI businesses that could open back up soon should also apply.
