BELLINGHAM, WA – The preliminary results are in for Tuesday’s election.

The proposition for a sales and use tax to fund a new jail is currently passing with just over 66% in favor of it.

Incumbent Satpal Sidhu currently leads the race for County Executive with nearly 56% of the votes to Dan Purdy’s 44%.

Incumbent Seth Fleetwood leads a narrow race for Bellingham Mayor with 50.11% of votes to political newcomer Kim Lund’s 49.28%.

Doug Chadwick leads Donnell “Tank” Tanksley in the race for County Sheriff with 50.1% of the votes to Tanksley’s 48.9%.

The initiative to raise the minimum wage in Bellingham is currently passing with nearly 55% of voters in favor of it.

The Greenways levy has heavy support, with just over 61% in favor.

The rental relocation assistance program is also currently passing with just over 58% of votes.
