Three Whatcom County prep baseball teams are off to district tournament semifinal games following a busy day of playoff action Saturday. Lynden advanced in the 2A classification, while Lynden Christian and Meridian are moving on in the 1A ranks.
Lynden shutout Sehome 4-0 Saturday to advance to a semifinal match-up versus Annacortes on Tuesday, May 9th at Volunteer Park.
In 1A bi-district action, Lynden Christian thumped Bush 11-to-1 and Meridian blanked Sultan 5-0 on Saturday. The Lyncs will play Cedar Park Christian and the Trojans will battle Overtake/Bear Creek in the semifinals. Both game will be played Monday at Joe Martin Field as part of a doubleheader.
Ferndale, Sehome, Blaine and Nooksack Valley all face loser out district playoff games on either Monday or Tuesday this week.
