The Lynden Lion baseball team is on to the district championship game. Lynden edged Anacortes 2-to-1 Tuesday in a semifinal match-up at Volunteer Park in Anacortes to secure the championship game berth and a spot in the 2A state tournament.
Lynden (19-2) will play Liberty for the district championship Saturday at 2:00pm at Daniles Field in Anacortes.
Elsewhere in the 2A ranks, Sehome and Blaine saw their seasons come to an end dropping loser-out contests. The Mariners (13-9) fell to Mountlake Terrace 1-0. The Borderites (17-5) were beaten by Archbishop Murphy 10-1.
Ferndale (12-10) stayed alive In 3A district play. The Golden Eagles topped Stanwood 4-1 in a loser out game on the road Tuesday. Ferndale will play Arlington at Arlington High School today at 4:00pm in another loser out contest.
