The Bellingham Herald reports that Sehome High School has won the Class 2A Scholastic Cup from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. The award goes to the top school in each classification for combined excellence in athletics, academics and sportsmanship. Sehome has won the award three times in a row and six times overall.
Ferndale High School multi-sport standout Ben Broselle has announced he will play rugby at UCLA next year. Broselle was a two-time state champion wrestler in addition to being a 1300-yard rusher at running back for the Golden Eagle football team.
And Paula French has been named the new girls soccer coach at Meridian High School. French replaces Terri Tigert, who led the Trojans for the last three seasons.
