BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The president of a Bellingham bookkeeping and accounting firm is charged with multiple counts of theft after accusations she embezzled from the company.

Sara Ann Greenleaf of Greenleaf Bookkeeping & Accounting Services was charged Tuesday with eight counts of first-degree theft and 27 counts of second-degree theft for multiple unauthorized transfers from a client’s account into her account.

The client told police the transfers, totaling about $200,000, were made between June 2018 and August of this year, within the timeframe Greenleaf had access to the account.

Greenleaf is scheduled for arraignment on November 15th.
