Primary election day arrives for Whatcom County voters

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The primary election has arrived, which will narrow down the field of candidates for positions like Bellingham Mayor, Whatcom County Executive, and 40th District State Senator.

You have until 8 PM on Tuesday to get your ballots in one of the drop boxes located around Whatcom County.

For the first time, you can register as late as the deadline and still get your ballot counted in the election.

While mailing your ballot is free, it must be postmarked by Tuesday to be counted.

Since that can’t be guaranteed this late, it’s safest to put your ballot in one of the drop boxes.
