BELLEVUE, Wash. – A proposed Puget Sound Energy settlement would boost your electric rates by 1 percent and cut your natural gas rates 4 percent, while setting aside $380 million for expenses to shut down the Colstrip coal fired plant in Montana.
PSE customers would also get increased weatherization assistance under the proposal.
The Seattle times reports the terms have been submitted to the state utilities and transportation commission for review and approval.
The proposed agreement reflects PSE’s efforts to transition away from coal as a fuel source.
