OLYMPIA, Wash. – You can comment on a gas and electricity rate increase request by Puget Sound Energy.

The utility says it needs the rate increase to recover operation costs.

PSE says the typical customer would see their electricity bill go up about a dollar per month and a gas customer would pay about $1.50 more.

The Utilities and Transportation Commission will decide whether to grant the increase.

The commission will hold a public hearing in Olympia on February 5th, but you can comment on-line or by phone, email or conventional mail.

The UTC accepts comments online here; email comments@utc.wa.gov; phone 1‑888‑333‑9882; fax 360‑664‑4291 or in writing to P.O. Box 47250, Olympia, WA, 98504‑7250. Please include your name, mailing address, the name of the company (PSE), and docket number UE‑180899 (electric) and/or UG‑180900 (natural gas).
