BELLINGHAM, Wash – The temporary stop to new development on some rural land in Whatcom County is the topic of a public hearing Tuesday night.
The County Council is considering extending the building ban on lots that are served by small exempt wells.
The moratorium is in response to the State Supreme Court ruling known as the “Hirst Decision.”
The Legislature is looking at changing the law to deal with the high court ruling, but time is running out on this year’s session.
