BIRCH BAY, Wash. – Whatcom County Public Works now has funding for work on two projects in Birch Bay.

The county recently received nearly $2 million in federal highway funding for the roadwork.

Half of the money will go towards replacing the intersection at Birch Bay-Lynden and Blaine Roads with a roundabout.

The other half will add a left turn lane and additional lighting at the intersection of Birch Bay-Lynden and Kickerville Roads.

Construction on both projects won’t begin until at least 2024.
