BELLINGHAM, Wash. — As rain moves in this week, the City of Bellingham and others are urging residents to take care of their falling leaves and keep storm drains clear.

Officials say piles of leaves on streets are a challenge for street sweepers, and leaves can clog storm drains which impacts water quality and can even cause flooding.

Leaves and yard debris can be bagged for disposal, placed in a Sanitary Service FoodPlus container or added to your compost pile.
