SEATTLE, Wash. — This past weekend was a whale watcher’s delight, with nearly 40 Bigg’s killer whales spotted in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
KING-5 reports the sighting was especially unique because a rare white orca was seen swimming among the pods.
Nearly 20 Southern Resident orcas were also observed over the weekend near Seattle, at one point delaying ferry service.
The Southern Residents were also seen near Edmonds on Sunday.
