REDMOND, Wash. — A Redmond IT company owes foreign employees here on H-1B work visas more than $300,000 to resolve wage violations.
A U.S. Department of Labor investigation found People Tech Group was paying 12 highly-skilled computer analysts and programmers entry-level wages, and sometimes did not pay them at all.
The department says they were doing the work of much more experienced employees and should have been getting higher prevailing rates.
It’s not clear where the workers are from and The Seattle Times could not verify if the company is still in business.
