Regional nonprofit organizations receive thousands in grant funding

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Some local nonprofit organizations facing more demand during the coronavirus crisis will receive a boost in funding.

First Federal Community Foundation chose 13 regional nonprofit organizations to share hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant funding.

The Whatcom Family YMCA and Lydia Place will each receive $50,000 and the Whatcom Community Foundation will receive $25,000.

Some of the funds will go towards the construction of low-income housing and a new early learning facility in Whatcom County.
