New University of Washington women’s basketball coach Jody has brought in a familiar face as her first recruit for the Huskies. Edmonds-Woodway High School star Missy Peterson is following Wynn from Long Beach State to Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports that Peterson originally signed a scholarship last year to play for the 49ers. She received her release from Long Beach State when Wynn left to take the UW job. The two will be now be reunited with the Dawgs.

The 5-foot-10 guard was first team All-Wesco last year. She led the 16-and-7 Warriors in scoring at 16 points points per game.

Wynn was hired at Washington in April after eight seasons as the head coach at Long Beach State. She led the 49ers to three consecutive 20-win campaigns, winning the Big West Conference tournament last season and making a first ever NCAA tournament appearance.
