BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County employers added nearly 3,000 jobs in August.
The latest jobs report shows an increase of 2,800 positions from the same time a year earlier.
600 of those jobs are in the manufacturing sector.
Retail in Whatcom County is down 100 positions.
The August 4.7 percent unemployment rate is unchanged from July, but down about 1.5 percent compared to last year.
