BURLINGTON, Wash. — US Representative Rick Larsen was in Skagit County Friday to talk local agriculture and trade.
The 2nd District democrat toured various sites, including the Pacific Marine Center, then held a roundtable with local farmers and others on what NAFTA means to them and their livelihoods.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports Larsen believes Washington is the most trade-dependent state with more than 35,000 farms and says while plans for NAFTA are unclear, our agriculture industry is directly impacted.
He remains optimistic the trade agreement can be renegotiated.
