BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local rescue volunteers got a hunter in distress off the southeast flank of Mount Baker on Friday.

Bellingham Mountain Rescue Council says on their Facebook page that they responded to reports of the hunter suffering respiratory or cardiac problems at 4600 feet.

Helicopter transport wasn’t an option due to poor visibility so they had to carry the person out on a stretcher.

The hunter’s identity and condition haven’t been released.
