FRIDAY HARBOR, Wash. — Two Puget Sound orcas are dying.
Director of the Center for Whale Research Ken Balcomb told the Seattle Times that photos taken of a 42-year-old female known as J17 on New Year’s Eve showed signs of starvation.
A 27-year-old male orca known as K25 is also suffering from lack of sufficient food.
Balcomb says they may be dead before summer.
