SEATTLE, Wash. – A number of Capitol Hill businesses, property owners and residents are suing Seattle over its tolerance of the “occupied” protest zone known as CHOP.

An attorney for the plaintiffs tells KOMO News that the city has been complicit in depriving them of their rights to their property, saying “the lawsuit isn’t seeking to interfere with the message that is trying to be sent by protesters. Our clients want public order, they want public safety, they want access to their streets and to their properties.”

The Seattle City Attorney’s Office said it had not yet seen the lawsuit and would review it.
