MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Former Mount Vernon officer Mike McClaughry, who still suffers from limited vision after a gunshot wound to the head in 2016, will have a new driveway thanks to volunteers from Pender Construction.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports they are replacing his front steps with a ramp and ripping up his cracked driveway to lay a new one, all for free.
These improvements are meant to help McClaughry better access his home and remove safety issues.
