WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – We’re used to watching travel expert Rick Steves traverse Europe but with world travel on hold during the pandemic, he turned his attention to Whatcom County’s hidden gems.
Amy Guerra with Bellingham Whatcom Tourism says he hosted a series of videos about what special about our communities.
“We invited him to come up with an eye toward our craft beverage expertise and farm-to-table fare here, and also arts and culture,” says Guerra. “He also explored the far-north port cities and talked about Peace Arch State Park for the centennial this year.”
The first of three videos is currently posted on the tourism bureau’s website.
The others will be released in September and October 2021.
