BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A road rage incident led to weapons charges against a man over the holiday weekend.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says the victim was driving on Mount Baker Highway around noon on Monday, July 4th, when a car began following them too closely.
The victim could see the driver, 23-year-old Dakota Bird, flipping them off repeatedly.
As the victim tried to turn onto East Mcleod Road, they saw Bird pull out a gun and point it at them.
The victim was able to take down Bird’s license plate and officers apprehended him at his residence.
Bird was arrested and issued a citation for pointing the gun at the victim.
