GLACIER, Wash. – Just one day before the Mount Baker Ski Area opens to the public, WSDOT crews are warning drivers to prepare for slowdowns.

Crews have closed off one lane near Fossil Creek for emergency repairs and traffic is being directed through the area by flaggers.

WSDOT says they expect road work to be completed there this week.

Construction will also be done later this week on areas of the road near Flood Rock and the Nooksack River vantage point.

All these spots are east of Glacier at mile post 39, 42 and 45.

More information on real-time traffic conditions can be found on WSDOT’s website.
