Things did not go as planned for the Walla Walla Valley Little League team in their first World Series appearance in Willamsport Pennsylvania. Walla Walla was blanked 9-0 by the West Region representative Santa Margarita out of California Friday.
Bobby Gray and Bryan Ramirez combined to throw a 1-hitter against the Northwest region champions. Joey Gray was the hitting star for Santa Margarita with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first inning. He finished the game with 5 RBI’s.
Walla Walla will play Saturday at 5:00pm pacific against the loser of Friday’s match-up between North State out of Greenville, North Carolina and and the Sioux Falls, South Dakota squad.
