BELLINGHAM, Wash. — New trails are open by Lake Whatcom.
Whatcom County Parks & Rec announced on Monday the opening of Rufus Creek Trail at Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve near Sudden Valley.
The trail is about 4.5 miles long, situated in a network of trails stemming from the Lookout Mountain Trailhead.
Volunteers from a number of local organizations and crews helped with trail construction, including members of the Greater Bellingham Running Club and the Washington Conservation Corps.
