OLYMPIA, Wash. — A citizens’ commission gave Washington lawmakers, judges and other elected officials a pay raise.

The Seattle Times reports in addition to raising base salaries, the Washington Citizens’ Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials approved cost-of-living increases by 2 percent in 2019 and another 2 percent in 2020.

For lawmakers, this means raises of $3,000 for 2019 and another $3,000 for 2020, which will give rank-and-file lawmakers over $56,000 per year.

The raises came as part of the commission’s regular salary adjustments.
