FRIDAY HARBOR, Wash. — A nearly blind and deaf golden retriever was rescued after stumbling off a thirty-foot cliff landing on a beach with a rapidly rising tide.
KOMO reports on Thursday that the San Juan Island Fire & Rescue responded to the call and rappelled down in the dark to get to Cowboy, who wasn’t moving.
Crews say when they reached him he was tired and scared, standing in six inches of water, and by the time they could pull him up they were standing in more than three feet of water.
Cowboy is making his recovery, with reports that he is up and moving around on his own.
