ANACORTES, Wash – A Saturday night crash on Highway 20 near Anacortes sent two Oak Harbor young people to the hospital and totaled a Bellingham woman’s SUV.
The Washington State Patrol says 20-year old Jonathon Lauger was going too fast while driving southbound near Campbell Road when he lost control of his Volvo and hit Alexis Blue’s Honda Element SUV.
Neither Blue, nor her passenger Deirdre Peroff, also of Bellingham were injured; both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
Lauger was taken to Island hospital and later charged with negligent driving, 2nd degree.
Lauger’s passenger, 18-year old Heather Mechalis, had to be taken to Harborview Medical Center for her injuries.
