LYNDEN, Wash. — Scammers are advertising fake athletic merch from Lynden High School.
The Lynden School District asked the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce to warn the community that a Las Vegas-based company called “Sports Media” is claiming to represent the school district.
The company has been selling false advertisements for Lynden High School athletic calendars and posters, and they are sending out “past due” invoices to customers in an attempt to get paid before anyone realizes the scam.
The merchandise is not approved by the high school athletic department.
The Chamber of Commerce says “Sports Media” is now targeting Bellingham businesses.
