OLYMPIA, Wash. — The likelihood of finding Asian Giant Hornets in areas beyond Whatcom County is good, entomologists say.

KIRO reports the state’s Department of Agriculture predicted that the so-called murder hornets will be found in other parts of the state as summer arrives.

WSDA’s Karla Salp said the hornets are very strong flyers so nearby counties should be on the lookout.

Entomologists unveiled an Asian Giant hornet tip line last week and ask that anyone who thinks they’ve seen one of the hornets to phone in or email a tip immediately.

To report a sighting, email or call (800) 443-6684.
