SEATTLE, Wash. — The first few days of the new year are expected to be busy for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
KING-5 reports the airport expects 60,000 passengers to pass through both Sunday and Monday – some of the highest its seen since the start of the pandemic but still down 60% from previous years.
The TSA screened over 1 million travelers on Saturday and has screened more than one million travelers five of the past nine days.
Doctors warn that holiday gatherings could create a further spike in coronavirus cases and increase stress on the nation’s healthcare systems.
