SEATTLE, Wash. — Hundreds of students are in limbo after The Art Institute of Seattle abruptly announced they were closing for good on Friday.

KOMO reports this is just two weeks before the end of the quarter and students are worried about whether they’ll be able to transfer their credits or if they will have nothing to show for their time at the school.

For years, the for-profit school’s parent company has struggled with financial issues and students and faculty have known since January the closure was possible.

The school has been there for 73 years.

The Washington Student Achievement Council is holding a fair next week to help the students decide their next steps.
