SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) – Seattle Mayor Ed Murray is facing increasing pressure to step down after a Seattle Times report.
It found that an Oregon child-welfare investigator concluded 30 years ago that he sexually abused his foster son.
Seattle council member M. Lorena Gonzalez calling for Murray’s resignation.
“It brings me no joy, and in fact, brings me a lot of sadness that we have to have this conversation.”
Murray says he is not resigning, despite this new information and claims by three other men that he sexually abused them as teenagers.
He decided in May that he wouldn’t seek re-election after the allegations surfaced but pledged to serve out his term.
