A ‘suspicious’ wrapped present that temporarily halted service at a Seattle ferry terminal, turned out to be a fruitcake.
State Patrol Trooper Kevin Fortino says troopers went to investigate the package yesterday (Tue) after someone reported a lone unmarked gift beneath a Christmas tree in the waiting area.
The terminal was evacuated and all inbound ferries were kept away for about a half-hour while the police bomb squad investigated.
Fortino says the gift was a harmless fruitcake and that it wasn’t clear why it was left at the terminal.
