SEATTLE, WASH. (AP) – Three judges from the 9th Circuit Court were in Seattle to hear arguments in Hawaii’s lawsuit over President Trump’s travel ban.
Government lawyers asked the judges Monday to overturn a lower court order blocking Trump’s ban.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer expressed confidence that the appeals court will uphold Trump’s ban.
“The measures that he took in that executive order are fully lawful, fully compliant, and make it clear that they seek to keep this country safe, that’s it, ” Spicer says.
Spicer did not address why Trump hasn’t disavowed his calls during the campaign for a ban on Muslims entering the country.
