ST. PETERSBURG, Florida – The Seattle Mariners have recalled infielder Taylor Motter from AAA Tacoma and infielder Danny Espinosa has been placed on waivers for the purpose of granting him his unconditional release. Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced the moves Sunday.

The 27-year-old Motter hit .350 with 7 home runs, 18 RBI’s and 6 stolen bases in 25 games with the Rainiers after being optioned on July 24. In 70 games with Seattle this season Motter hit .204 with 7 home runs and 23 RBI’s.

Espinosa appeared in 8 games with Seattle after signing as a free agent on July 24. Overall he hit .188 ith 2 runs scored, 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s. The 30-year-old began the season with the Los Angeles Angels.
